Maybe you've experienced that chilling feeling. Maybe it was when you were a kid, and you couldn't fall asleep because you thought there was something under the bed. Or maybe it was as an adult, taking the dog out for a late-night stroll. Some people refuse to believe that ghosts are real, but here are a few photos that might just change your mind.
This photo has become well known as simply "The Ghost in the Corner." Its location and date are unknown, perhaps for good reason.

This picture of the Combermere Abbey library in Cheshire, England is from 1891. The figure in the chair on the left is believed to be Lord Combermere, a British cavalry commander in the ealry 1800s who was killed in 1891 when he was struck by a horse-drawn carriage. At the time the photo was being taken, Combermere's funeral was actually taking place four miles away. Some claim that the figure is that of a servant, who sat in during the hour-long exposure of the photograph. Members of the household dispute that notion, however, noting that everyone from the surrounding areas were attending the funeral at the time the picture was taken.

Meet "The Brown Lady" of Raynham Hall. This was taken in 1936 in Raynham Hall in Norfolk, England. This is rumoured to be the ghost of Lady Dorothy Townshend. She was the wife of Charles Townshend, and when Mr. Townshend suspected his wife was being unfaithful, he supposedly locked her in a remote corner of the house, where she would pass away and never descend these stairs again.

This is perhaps one of the most chilling images of a ghost that we have to this day. Taken outside a fire in Shropshire, England, there is a clear image of a young girl standing amoungst the flames. No one remembers a young girl anywhere near this building fire on November 19, 1995. Some do, however, remember a fire back in 1677 that was started by a young girl named Jane Churm, who was killed in the accident. She was 14 years old. How old would you say that little girl is?

This photo has become famous because of Royal Air Force Mechanic Freddy Jackson. Freddy served in World War I, but was killed in 1919 when an airplane propeller hit him. This photo was taken two days after his death, yet Freddy still was able to make an appearance.

Here is an old photo of a man holding his daughter, while his father sits in front of their porch. It seemed like a pretty normal day, that is until they saw what was lurking in the window behind them.

This photo was taken at the Newby Church in Yorkshire, England. Rumor has it that this photo is a nine-foot-tall figure that resembles an old monk. The figure was not visible until the photo was processed.

This untitled photo was taken outside the entrance to a church. Whoever felt compelled to take it must have had a feeling something strange was lurking in the shadows that night.

This photo was taken in the middle of the night outside a family's home. The kids were suspicious of noises coming from outside, perhaps this young girl could be the source.

This is a photo taken outside a simple campsite in the middle of the night. Maybe they shouldn't have told that last ghost story.

Some stories associated with this photo taken in Oak Grove, Ky. are along the lines of a soldier killing his wife and throwing her body into the water below. It has been said that since that fatal night in the 1960s, you can still see her walking the bridge at night, searching for reasons why.

This is another photo of a man simply posing in front of his house one afternoon. Little did he know that he wasn't the only one in the picture. Perhaps it is time to find a new place to live? We wouldn't be able to call a real-estate agent fast enough.

This photo, taken in the early '80s, features a young girl playing in the living room. When the photo was developed, the father found a disturbing image of a ghostly figure crawling near his daughter. There was something familiar about this figure. Perhaps it was his late wife making a visit to see her baby girl?

It is hard to tell from the picture, but these ghostly visitors appear to be sailors, sitting in on a youth sporting event. This would be strange, if this photo wasn't taken in a Pearl Harbor, Hawaii gymnasium.

These two young women were out for a night on the town, when they stopped to have someone take a picture using one of their cell phones. The two screamed in terror when they realized someone, or something had slid into the picture with them.

This photo surfaced out of New Mexico and is simply titled The Man in the Doorway. A young man grew up in a home where he slept in a room located in the center of the house. He kept seeing a shadow at night while he slept, usually a few times a year. When it got to be more frequent, he began to take photos of the doorway where the shadow lurked. One day, his suspicions where proven to be true.

This photo proves a strange legend surrounding a railroad crossing in San Antonio, Texas. The crossing was apparently the site of several deaths of school-aged children. One night, a young woman went to take some photographs of the site to test this myth, and this figure showed up in the corner of one of the photos.

In 1959, Mable Chinnery went to visit her mother's grave. She took some photos and turned to take a final shot of her husband, sitting in the car. When the photos were developed, it seemed that there was a passenger in the backseat. Mrs. Chinnery refused to believe that it was anyone but her mother.

Picture #17 looks like a guy is holding a phone and is taking a picture of the three of them. Is this a fake? Hard to say.
April 16 2013 at 10:28 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMany of these stories and pictures I believe to actually be true. When you love someone I believe they are frequanly near you, even after death. As far as the crime, torture and killings in the stories, I too have belief that souls who die like this are going to not be able to rest in peace. They will come back to haunt those who sronged them. I do hope that someone in our lifetime will be able to find a way to help them to their final resting place. These mysterious sighting of gosts and visions showing up in film is a way for them to let us know their souls are still there. How can we help them rest? Or maybe some of them don\'t want to rest at all!
April 16 2013 at 7:43 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOkay the oak grove KY thing is all BS btw I just moved from there, lived a mile from that location there\'s about a bazillion different urban legends circulating that particular bridge... No soldier killed his wife and threw her over there, no woman\'s horse drawn carraige went over, no slaves were hung there... Just a bunch of folklore, however, on night, my now husband and I were out on a country drive and there was a group of teens on that bridge hosting some kind of candle lit siance, yeap, called oak grove pd, drove back by and they were packing up per police escort... Goofy... *rolling eyes*

November 04 2012 at 6:06 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyA lot of these pictures are simply film developing issues. If was fairly common to have images from another picture accidentally superimposed on an altogether different photograph.
October 20 2012 at 8:13 PM Report abuse Permalink -1 rate up rate down ReplyThat has happened to me in double exposure of other pictures showing up together on one. Although they never appeared to be gost like. I believe some of these stories to be true. Why don\'t you?
April 16 2013 at 7:46 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyNo, there really is a tourist attraction at some railroad tracks outside of san antonio, my parents took me there when I was like maybe 14. You drive there and get outside, dump baby powder on your car, sprinkling it different places, then turn off your vehicle intersecting the tracks. My dad had bet my mom it wasn't true but then he got freaked when the car was pushed off. Years before, a bus had stopped on the tracks carrying school children, killing everyone inside. Look it up. Now they try to save everyone by pushing their cars off of the tracks, you can see handprints of different sizes, all small, except the set of the school bus drivers! look it up, pretty weird.
October 19 2012 at 7:26 PM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyNancy, I believe your story to be true. Strange things happen in areas where people have died in tragedy. Maybe these souls just need to rest somehow and don\'t know how yet. It\'s creepy but believable!

October 19 2012 at 6:54 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyPicture 15, dated early '80s clearly shows a Super Nintendo sitting above the tv, not around until the early '90s. Not that it has anything to do with the "ghost", but if they got a little fact like the date wrong, what else might be "fabricated?"
