With the teaser trailers for "Anchorman 2" making the Internet rounds, it has us excited and also feeling a bit nostalgic. The original "Anchorman" was one of the best comedies of the past decade and still has us laughing many years after its release.
We can't wait for "Anchorman 2" to arrive in theaters, but we've got a while before that happens. To hold you over until then, here's 10 things you might not have known about Ron Burgundy and his beloved Channel 4 news team.

10. Although it was set in San Diego, "Anchorman" was actually filmed mostly in Los Angeles, Glendale, and Long Beach on sets which were made to look like 1970s San Diego.
This shot, for example, shows the Channel 4 News helicopter landing on Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach, Calif. The building in the background is the International Tower building which houses condos.-

9. An entire movie titled "Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie" was released on DVD in 2004 and includes 93 minutes of abandoned subplots and alternate takes from the original film.

2. The sound effect heard when the News Team jumps into the bear pit towards the end of the film is from "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "The Bionic Woman," two popular '70s TV shows. On those two shows, the sound was heard anytime the characters would perform a physically superhuman feat.

If my parents knew San Diego meant "Whale's Vagina", they would have never let me watch T.V. game show Where in the World is Carmen San Diego when I was growing up.
