Besides marking the beginning of summer, Memorial Day weekend means a lot of war-movie marathons. While we hope you won’t be sitting inside watching people get killed all weekend, if you haven’t seen any of these movies (or even if you have) get them on your DVR for future viewing.
10. All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)
Don’t be deterred because this movie was made in 1930 and is about World War I. It holds up just fine and the ending will have you crying like a baby.-

9. Patton
You watch this movie for one reason and one reason only: George C. Scott. A soldier who actually served under General Patton said that Scott’s performance was so dead-on he thought the General was going to stop mid-movie and start berating him like the old days.-

7. Three Kings
George Clooney leads a bunch of Army misfits on a gold heist in the days following the end of the first Gulf War. Don’t be fooled by the premise; this movie has plenty to say. And if you don’t care about that, then at least watch to check out Spike Jonze's flawless portrayal of a hilarious redneck.-

The movie Three Kings was a boof, it was a bad representation of the Iraq war. I did not like it. It was a typical Hollywood movie where the director did no research of actual events and how the military really operates, just like the movie Green Zone.
