Being raised by a single mother, Minka Kelly moved around several times as a young woman, eventually graduating from high school in Albuquerque, New Mexico before returning to Los Angeles. She had an interest in modeling and acting from a young age, and her natural physical beauty made her a perfect fit.

Unfortunately, Minka Kelly ran into a very weird stumbling block on her path to stardom. Her first manager got her a job as a receptionist in a surgeon’s office with the assumption that she would trade hours worked for breast implants. Obviously, she turned down this totally idiotic plan and went her own way.

She did, however, stay in the medical field, and Minka Kelly went to school to become a surgeon's assistant and worked as a scrub tech for four years while trying to land acting roles. When she got her big break on Friday Night Lights, she left the world of medicine behind, but she doesn't rule out returning to school.

Minka Kelly was cast as cheerleader Lyla Garrity on Friday Night Lights in 2006. Since she had never cheered before, Kelly was sent to Texas to intern with the Pfluegerville High School's cheer squad. Kelly's work on the show was one of the popular series' high points, and she was praised by critics and audiences alike.

In 2010, Esquire Magazine named Kelly it's sexiest woman alive, which was a tremendous honor for the young actress. She has also been placed on similar lists from a wide variety of lad mags like Stuff and Maxim, most of them slavering over her perfect legs, slim figure and warm, welcoming personality.

Minka Kelly has been paired with a number of famous men throughout the entertainment and sports industry. Some of the actors she has been paired with include Chris Evans and Donald Faison, and she spent a few wild months with notorious man-whore John Mayer, as well as Derek Jeter.

Among her many interests, Minka Kelly donates her time to a number of charities. She appeared in a breast cancer awareness "slumber party" video with fellow hotties Jaime King, Katharine McPhee, Alyson Hannigan and Emily Deschanel for the online video site Funny or Die. I wish I got invited to that party.

Minka Kelly has made appearances in a number of horror films, most notably 2011's The Roommate where she played a young woman starting her freshman year of college who is saddled with a potentially homicidal roomie played by Leighton Meester. She was nominated for two MTV Movie Awards for her scream-heavy performance.
