A 10 year old Lindsay Lohan made her first acting appearance in the soap opera Another World, playing young Alexandra Fowler. The show actually launched a number of careers -- actors including Morgan Freeman, Ray Liotta and even Brad Pitt all got an early break on the long-running NBC soap.

Lohan's first film was the 1988 remake of the Disney classic The Parent Trap, where she played a pair of identical twins separated at birth who meet as pre-teens, realize they look exactly alike, and try to reunite their parents. Her performance won her a three-film contract with Disney, which led to Freaky Friday and Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen.

When filming independent drama Georgia Rule in 2006, Lindsay Lohan had to be hospitalized again for "dehydration" (that also means drugs), causing one of the film's producers to release an open letter to Lindsay putting her on blast for her all-night partying and late arrivals to the set. She denied it, of course.

Things just got worse for Lindsay Lohan with the release of I Know Who Killed Me, an inept psychological thriller that was supposed to be her comeback movie. Lohan had a long-awaited sex scene in the movie, but it was literally the most boner-wilting thing I've ever seen. She won a Razzie for this one.

In 2007, Lindsay Lohan finally fessed up to her overwhelming alcohol and drug problems, but a stint in rehab didn't do much for her. Her career continued to nosedive, from a disastrous stint as special advisor to fashion house Emanuel Ungaro to being dissed by the Barack Obama election campaign when she volunteered.
