Kristen has never been shy about what she calls her "wonky" eye. In fact, she suffers from a condition known as strabismus, where the eyes are not properly aligned with one another (also known as "lazy eye"). She claims that even though she has gotten treatment, it still "acts up" when she doesn't get enough sleep.

Kristen hails from Huntington Woods, Michigan, just outside of Detroit. Her parents -- mom a registered nurse and dad a television news producer -- divorced when she was two, and Kristen has two half sisters. Kristen disliked her first name originally, and went by her middle name, Anne, until high school.

An avid hockey fan, Kristen is a diehard supporter of her hometown Detroit Red Wings. She once told an off-ice reporter interviewing her during a game that her first big crush was on former Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood, and she once broke both her wrists playing street hockey.

Kristen's big screen debut was actually in the surreal cult comedy Pootie Tang, written and directed by comedian Louis CK -- but only if you stuck around after the movie was over. Kristen played a schoolgirl who acts unimpressed with "Pootie" in a recording studio. Her scene plays during the end credits.

A devoted animal lover, Kristen has been a devout vegan since she was 11 years old. She credits her mother, a nurse, with making sure Kristen got enough protein and other essentials without animal products. Kristen was named among the world's sexiest vegetarians by PETA. She also has two dogs: Lola and Mr. Shakes.

A fan favorite among the "geek" crowd thanks to shows like Veronica Mars and Heroes, Kristen appreciates her following. "To me, fanboys are inspiring because they cannot be told to like something. It's a hard group to please. It has to be smart. They like what they like because they like it. I think that's awesome."

Kristen became a viral Internet sensation when she shared a personal home video with the world during a visit to the Ellen DeGeneres Show. In it, Bell has an emotional breakdown when she learns that her boyfriend, Dax Shepard, had arranged for her favorite animal, a sloth, to come to her birthday party.

A self-described "serial monogamist," Kristen has been dating actor Dax Shepard (Parenthood) steadily since 2007. In 2010, the couple announced that they had gotten engaged, but they have seemingly not set a wedding date as of yet.

Petite and youthful, the 31-year-old seemed to be forever stuck playing teenage tomboys until the Showtime drama House of Lies came along. Bell claims she was typecast because she "wasn't homely enough to play the nerdy girl and not nearly pretty enough to play the pretty girl."
